Plant Shipping & Phytosanitary Policy

Live Plant Shipping

We ship live carnivorous plants and related products within the United States. All live plant shipments are packaged to minimize stress and damage during transit. We use appropriate insulation, moisture retention, and cushioning based on season and destination.

Shipping Restrictions: Some states and territories restrict or prohibit the import of certain plants due to agricultural pests, invasive species, or phytosanitary regulations. We comply with federal (USDA APHIS) and state department of agriculture requirements. Orders to restricted destinations may be canceled or modified. We will notify you if your state has restrictions affecting your order.

Phytosanitary & Agricultural Compliance

Federal: Interstate movement of plants may be subject to USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) regulations. We follow APHIS requirements for plant pests and diseases. When required, phytosanitary certificates or other documentation will be included with shipments.

California: California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) and county agricultural commissioners enforce plant quarantine and pest exclusion laws. Plants shipped to or from California must comply with CDFA regulations. Some plants may require inspection, certification, or may not be permitted.

Other States: Many states have similar requirements. We verify shipping eligibility before processing orders. If you have questions about your state's rules, contact your state department of agriculture or contact us.

Timing, Transit & Handling

We generally ship [specify days, e.g., Monday–Wednesday] to avoid weekend delays. We avoid shipping during extreme heat or cold when possible. You are responsible for receiving the package promptly and unpacking plants upon arrival. See our Shipping and Returns policies for delivery timeframes and damaged-plant procedures.

Proposition 65 (California)

California Proposition 65 requires warnings for exposure to chemicals known to cause cancer or birth defects. Some plants, growing media, or products may contain or produce substances subject to Proposition 65. If applicable to our products, we will provide appropriate warnings. For questions, please contact us.
